Out of the “box”

So, who’s out of the box these days? I’ve heard that phrase for 20 years now, ever since the Quality wave started, and I’m still not sure what it means. I just heard the phrase again the other day, so its still around.
I think the box is important. There’s a lot of effort that went into the box. Someone had to create it, nurture it, define its boundaries. Only then can people attempt to think outside of it. In the last 20 years, people have spent so much time out of it, I wonder if it even exists anymore. Maybe the new”out of the box”is the new “inside the box” and thinking inside the box is actually outside of the box. Or something. I know that paradigms exist for a reason.
